One of my favourite things to do is to wander around markets. In whatever country I find myself in I always try to make it to a local market. They are guaranteed to be a microcosm of culture, conversation and colour- and, of course, good food.
Dublin is no different. There are some great farmer’s markets in the city centre and more springing up each year. These shots were taken at the little Thursday market on Coppinger Row and at the regular Saturday Temple Bar market, which is now located on the lovely Cow’s Lane. It also happens to be the home of Samadhi Yoga, where I was doing a photo shoot this morning (how convenient)- but more on that soon.
In the meantime, feast on these…

I love markets, too. Being able to explore markets in different cities, including my own, has always delighted me. Eliminating the big supermarkets in the process of bringing home your food is very nice, every now and again. The interaction between you and the seller, and you and the food, allows for a connection that I never feel at the supermarkets.
I’ve just moved to a new city for the summer and you’ve inspired me to look into seeing if there is a local supermarket. Thanks, Clare.
