The ideas to action cafés are evolving. What started as an idea is now transforming into real time, real life connections.
The café conversation model is based on the premise that some of the more stimulating conversations happen in informal settings- around the kitchen table, over cups of coffee, and so the model we use adapts to that, bringing a group of people together to forge connections. Participants may have ideas they want to develop or are interested in learning more about the process of idea generation, iteration and how ideas are brought to life. The action cafe is simply a way which allows people to share and develop their ideas and build a support network as they do so…

I’ve loved watching people connect and rally around each other. It has been brilliant to witness how supportive and encouraging people have been. The café format is such that on a particular evening some people get to pitch their ideas, while others get to respond, support and learn through the process. Everyone seems to gain.

We are experimenting with the format and flow and hope to see the concept evolve even futher. We also hope to host more action cafes in the summer months. Dates and locations to follow.

Huge thanks to my collaborator Eimear Mc Nally, and to Mari Kennedy for her continued and amazing support. And, of course, to all the participants who have showed up and jumped in.
